Tonight, the Empty Chair Echoes

In the circle of our stories, where laughter used to flow,

An empty chair now lingers, a silent, aching glow.

Its presence speaks of memories, of moments shared with grace,

But now it holds a shadow, a heart we can't replace.

We gather in remembrance, the weight of grief we bear,

For one who’s left our circle, now resting in the air.

A life cut short, a journey, halted by a fleeting chance,

In the blink of an eye, they left, without a final glance.

This chair, it holds our sorrow, in each tear that we shed,

For all the words unspoken, for all the dreams now dead.

Yet in this space of silence, we find a spark of light,

A reminder of their laughter, that once danced in the night.

Recovery comes in cycles, sometimes quick, sometimes slow,

One day at a time we gather, learning how to grow.

Each step a path to healing, though the journey feels so long,

With every shared remembrance, we find the strength to be strong.

So let us fill this emptiness with love that will not fade,

For though they are not with us, their spirit won’t evade.

We’ll share their stories boldly, let their legacy be known,

In every empty chair, they’re with us, never alone.

In every gathering forward, in every heartfelt prayer,

We’ll cherish all the moments, for love fills every chair.

And when we see that empty seat, we’ll remember with a smile,

That they’re still a part of us, just gone a little while.
