Romans 12:4-5 (NLT) 4 Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, 5 so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.
The presence of others is a shield against the enemies' tactics. Loneliness is what the vehicle the devil thrives on, using it to exploit our vulnerabilities. Addiction inherently drives us to isolation.
I kind of think of it like this, if I’m in a room alone I can hear the enemies whisper all to clearly… Every little utterance, every lie, every twisted truth, even the softest ones, I can hear, often feeling like it is a dull roar.
However, when I am surrounded by my brothers-in-arms, being loud, making jokes, lifting each other up, even in these lighthearted moments, I won't be able to hear the whispers of the enemy. He would have to scream loudly to even be heard and when he does that, I imagine that when he finally screams loudly, then he will be exposed to everyone, and he knows if he does, he will not stand a chance then.
I’m incredibly grateful for the fellowship of this group. No longer am I alone, even when life throws curve balls at me, I know I have a multitude of guys who are here with me.
Dean grateful believer in Jesus Christ striving and fighting for moral and sexual purity.
